Republican-run governmental programs have been busy gobbling up individual, personal information, potentially putting countless Americans at risk of identity fraud and who knows what else. What do you think has been happening, when Trump administration lackeys rush to take over departments and their computers, while often firing experienced, trained public servants? We need a Congress that will restore checks and balances—that will insist on legal standards, rules, and accountability, and won’t let a reckless administration run amok. Hawaii’s Senator Mazie Hirono, in discussing Trump’s Department of Justice on October 7, pointed out that “blue states are sued to get highly sensitive private voter data, whereas the red states are left alone, the double standards are clear and the American people are waking up to the corruption, and favoritism, and the lawlessness of the D.O.J.” To help ensure a ‘checks and balances’ Congress capable of successfully challenging such outrages, vote YES on Prop 50.
