You don’t want to die or lose your home in a wildfire!  You don’t want to choke on smoke and other pollution!

We get it, Trump loves the oil industry tycoons who contribute to him. But why is he doing what he can to oppose wind and solar energy, which provide incredible numbers of new jobs and economic opportunity for Californians like you, while getting us a cleaner, safer environment? Why is the Republican Congress not speaking up on our behalf,, and also for the sake of national security? (Disruptive and severe climate conditions around the globe can lead to drought, famine, mass migration, and wars.)

Almost every scientist on the planet agrees that climate change has contributed substantially to the increase in wild weather events and trends, with sudden floods, storms, and wildfire tragedies becoming more and more frequent, year by year, directly or indirectly fostered by extreme climate conditions. That will only get worse unless we own the truth and do something about it, and not just “drill baby, drill.” 

If you’re old enough, you may remember when Los Angeles County and other places were famously smothered by a huge brown-gray layer of smog — meaningful regulations all got rid of that, but now the Trump administration is proudly getting rid of air quality-related regulations and monitoring. Americans are getting stuck with frightening climate trends while affordable, obtainable fire and flood insurance becomes extinct. Positions that keep track of environmental data are being eliminated, which may annihilate the chance of the public being warned, in a timely and competent way, of a pending hazard. There is significant concern that the federal government's will and ability to help a community after an emergency is also being undermined. In general, our oceans, rivers, soil and air are being contaminated, and other countries, including China, are busy taking the lead in creating new jobs and technologies that may produce and provide solutions. We absolutely need YES on Prop 50 and a Congress, unrigged by Trump, that is open to science, and that will provide true checks and balances, credible oversight, and genuine leadership, to better protect us, our planet, and our health from policies that may doom us.
