You have to be able to pay for groceries!

Trump promised to bring prices down on day one, but food and energy costs keep climbing. It’s like he forgot! Instead, Trump fixates on his crazy back-and-forth tariffs which may be ruled illegal, and which have caused economic chaos, driving prices up, making business planning and supply chains completely chaotic, and threatening to make jobs and businesses disappear. 

On October 12, Goldman Sachs analysts predicted that U.S. consumers will likely pay for over half the costs of tariffs this year due to higher prices.

Stop the madness! The Constitution says the power of the purse belongs to Congress (the Appropriations Clause, Article I). A Trump tariff is a tax on the American people being imposed without the required approval of Congress. For the sake of our own personal pocketbooks and keeping costs down, we need a Congress with spine, one that does what it’s supposed to do and doesn’t relinquish its responsibilities in order to kowtow to a president who is bent on willy-nilly tariffs. Vote for checks and balances, not "one-man" rule:  vote YES on Prop 50!
