Better duck and cover:  Trump is out for retribution against anyone he thinks is an enemy, and that evidently includes the people of California. It could be you!

Countless media reports have described Trump’s “vengeance tour,” in which (as Politico put it on Oct. 3, 2025) a president, “to an unprecedented degree, has used the levers of government to torment the people, places and institutions that Trump sees as adversaries.” And it’s not only Democrats being targeted! Who can keep track of all the investigations, indictments, and firings, the pressure tactics to get others to bend the knee and pay up or else?

We’re already hearing about huge infrastructure projects being halted in California and other blue states—only in blue states — with hundreds of thousands of jobs lost, and with specious reasons given for what amounts to revenge politics. Plus, of course, there’s the use and abuse of the military, which — imposed, uninvited, on local jurisdictions — disrupts, divides, and endangers people, families, and neighborhoods, while putting our country in a Constitutional conflict, but also does immense damage to our businesses and industries, striking at their economic health (and, by the way, that of the nation).

All this is particularly troubling because California, like most blue states, does more than its fair share to subsidize red states, contributing far more to the federal coffers than it gets back in return, relative to what happens commonly with red states. California is a successful, compassionate, friendly state, and so hasn’t complained about the disparity, but it’s bad news when Republicans and conservative talking heads say dismissively that Californians are not “real” Americans, and it’s worse when literal harm is being done to punish California. And it never stops with the celebrities and big-name elected officials; it will always trickle down. How un-American! Vote YES on Prop 50 to protect California (it could be any of us!) and the American way!
